So Ellie has been for the most part sleeping with me and John since she was born. Some nights we would start her off in her crib, but she preferred to be in with us. She has gotten big enough to wake up in the night and crawl over us, in danger of falling out of the bed. So a change needed to be made. We decided to try an experiment, and put John's futon mattress on the floor in Ellie's room. We figured it would be easy to put her to bed, easier than trying to lower her 3 feet into a crib, and then if she wanted some company we could sleep in there with her. So far it is going pretty well. We do sleep in there many nights, though she has slept through the night a few times. We are also hoping this will make for an easier transition to a toddler bed later this year.
Actually, John turned her crib into a toddler bed this week. Ellie thinks it is hilarious that she can crawl up and down on the bed. I'm not sure she thinks of it as a place for sleeping.

We are getting ready to get Allie her "big girl" bed.... (a twin bed) now that she is officially potty trained, it sort of seems cruel to keep putting her into a bed that she cannot get out of!
